The 2026 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women’s Fencing Championships, hosted by Trent University, will take place at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on January 24 - 25, 2026.
The event will welcome 13 university teams from across Ontario, featuring top student-athletes from post-secondary institutions from across the province, including the host Trent Excalibur women’s fencing team. Over two days of individual and team relay competition, the championship is expected to bring more than 150 participants, coaches, and officials to the community, along with visiting families and spectators.
Canada’s largest wrestling tournament –the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Wrestling Championship – is returning to Peterborough March 2 – 4, 2026. The championship, which will take place at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, brings together more than 900 competitors and 450 coaches from 250 secondary schools from across Ontario, and offers a convenient location for athletes, supporters and spectators.
Peterborough will host the 2026 TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Under-18 Men’s Club Championship, Hockey Canada announced on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, bringing the elite national tournament to one of Canada’s most notable hockey communities.
Football Ontario is excited to announce that, in partnership with Fleming College, the Fleming Phoenix, the City of Peterborough, and the Detroit Lions, the 2025 Intercollegiate Flag Provincial Championship and the Adult Flag Circuit Championship will both be held at Fleming College in Peterborough.
Women’s Major Series Lacrosse (WMSL) has selected Peterborough to be its host community for its 2025 Provincial Championship tournament that will be held from August 15 to 17, 2025.
The WMSL Provincial Championship brings together 10 teams from across Ontario for a three-day tournament with senior competition to crown the provincial champion.
