Singles Night: Sam Roberts Band

Celebrate the chart-topping singles from the Sam Roberts Band, consistently surpassing expectations with their music. The double-platinum-selling Canadian band is known for their radio hits since their debut album We Were Born In A Flame, which included hit singles "Brother Down", "Don't Walk Away Eileen", "Hard Road" and "Where Have All The Good People Gone?".

Quality Time with Your Valentine

This year Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday night – which means it’s a perfect evening to enjoy a night on the town with your special someone. A few downtown restaurants (Amandala’s, Capra Toro, Boardwalk Board Game Lounge, and Love You Mean It, to name a few) are running special Valentine’s Day menus.

Looking to add a little entertainment to the evening? The Canadian Canoe Museum is welcoming Miss Emily to the stage as part of their Music in the Museum Series. Or you can head over to Market Hall for the annual Cirquelesque performance.

Reframe Film Festival

The in-person event gets started in January, and carries through to Sunday, February 1. The virtual event (which pairs perfectly with local takeout and pals) runs through February 3 – 8. ReFrame is a widely celebrated event in the Nogojiwanong / Peterborough arts and culture community. With a focus on social justice, human rights, and environmental responsibility, ReFrame strives to foster meaningful connections between audiences, filmmakers and artists, community partners, and neighbours.

When: Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1 (in-person); Tuesday, February 3 to Sunday February 8 (virtual)

Where: Downtown Nogojiwanong/Peterborough at Showplace and Market Hall

Make Your Winter a Wild One

Family Day Ski Extravaganza with Peterborough Nordic Club

Round out the Family Day weekend with your loved ones at Peterborough Nordic Club, which operates all winter long at Lift Lock Golf & Country Club. The clubhouse will be open for food and beverages including the bar. Free day passes and rentals available all day for both skate and classic.

When: Monday, February 16 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Peterborough Snofest

For Family Day weekend, the Peterborough community comes together to celebrate. In town for the weekend? You won’t want to miss Saturday (Feb 14) as Quaker Foods City Square is transformed into Snofest Square featuring cozy fire pits and seating, skating, and opportunities to get active with Snoga (snow yoga) with Summer Soul Yoga & Wellness from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., or Salsa Dancing session with T-Elle Boutique from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Highly Likely Festival

Once again, Take Cover Books is teaming up with Miracle Territory creating four days that offer up a beautiful blend of music and literature. Each night will feature music and literature in concert. Plus, a special sound art installation by Garrett Gilbart will be exhibited from February 10 to March 1.

 Individual show tickets are $30 and festival passes are $100.

Brand New Stages Festival

New Stages is bringing seven plays, more than 40 artists to two downtown venues (Market Hall Performing Arts Centre and The Theatre on King -TTOK).

Don’t miss this acclaimed semi-autobiographical play about 12 dinners Canadian playwright Steve Ross shares with his parents during an eventful time in their lives.
